Privacy

The short version

  • Hey Meta sets no cookies and loads no advertising or tracking scripts.
  • Websites you check are fetched on the spot and the results aren't saved.
  • Visitor statistics come from our own Plausible Analytics, which stores no personal data.
  • If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address and the address you checked, to tell you when AI tracking launches and about other Hey Meta updates, until you unsubscribe.

Who is responsible

Hey Meta is run by Familia d.o.o., Slovenia, which is responsible for the personal data described here. Questions and requests: [email protected].

Checking a website

When you check a website, our server fetches that page, plus its robots.txt and llms.txt, to read its meta tags and run the checks. The results are shown to you and not stored.

The address you checked is part of the results page's address, so it appears in the routine request logs of our server and of Cloudflare (see below), together with your IP address. These logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting.

Visitor statistics

We count visits with Plausible Analytics, running on our own server. It uses no cookies and stores no personal data: your IP address is only used to create a daily changing anonymous count of visitors, and isn't stored.

Besides page views, we count a few actions to learn which features are useful: copying the generated code or a fix, downloading a share image, opening the AI tabs, joining the waitlist, and clicks on outbound links such as the sponsor banner. None of these record who you are.

The AI tracking waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we store your email address and the website address you were checking. We use them to email you when AI tracking launches, with your site ready to set up, and occasionally about other Hey Meta announcements. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).

The list is stored with Resend, the email service we use, which processes it on our behalf. Resend is based in the United States.

We keep your details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also withdraw your consent at any time by writing to [email protected].

Share image generator

The image generator runs entirely in your browser. Your text, colors and any logo or photo you add are never uploaded to us.

Cloudflare

Hey Meta is delivered and protected by Cloudflare, which handles every request on its way to our server. To do that it processes your IP address and request details.

Sponsors

The sponsor banner is an image and a link. Sponsors get no scripts on our pages and no information about you; we only count that the link was clicked.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and have it corrected, deleted, restricted or handed over to you. You can also object to its use and withdraw your consent at any time. Write to [email protected].

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. Ours is the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia.

Changes

When Hey Meta starts handling data differently, for example when accounts arrive, this page changes first and the date at the top is updated.
